Paris
Bonjour!!
Left our digs in London at 8am, caught the train to Heathrow and then a 45min flight to Paris – yay! Finally negotiated the airport successfully after Rod was asked to stop trying to speak French and use Anglais Caught 2 metros to Pigalle thinking we’d catch a cab to our hotel - wrong! Whenever we asked a cabby for our address we were told he had ‘finir’, so finally we walked and navigated our way to our hotel, through Pigalle, up 7 sets of stairs to Sacré Coeur (see photos), saw our first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower and finally after an hour and half found our hotel - Rod is a legend (he was shlepping the luggage!!!). The hotel is typically French, the lift is the size of a very small closet 2 people can stand very ‘closely’. With luggage it’s really squashy! The view from our bathroom is the Eiffel Tower, every hour on the hour she puts on her ballgown for 10 minutes . Paris is everything one dreams it is and more. Off now for some night life and music which abounds in the Montmartre.
